For students or scholars who want to go to church this weekend_ISI Empire

March 3, 2011 in Default

For students or scholars who want to go to church this weekend you will have two options:

1.      Saturday night, The Grove, an American church. We will be picking up at about 4:00PM. After church we will go to “Bunko Party” where you will meet American and international students from different schools in the Riverside area. Bunko is a fun, easy to learn, fast paced dice game. Bunko is a very popular American party game. It always involves food, large groups of people and lots of noise. If you have never played Bunko don’t worry it is easy to learn and lots of fun. We will return home about 10:00PM.

2.      Sunday morning we will be going to Riverside Mandarin Baptist Church (check out their Facebook page here). RMBC is a Chinese church offering services in Chinese and English. We will stay for a free lunch after church and return home about 1:00PM.

The three pickup sites are:

1) Korean Church (Blaine & Canyon Crest)

891 W Blaine St, Riverside, CA 92507

2) W Big Springs & Watkins Bus Stop

186 W Big Springs Rd, Riverside, CA 92507

3) UCR Extension Center

Welcome to the Grove Church 2010/10/31

October 28, 2010 in Default

Dear Friends

Welcome to the Grove Community Church this Sunday. As normal, we will have an Aftertalk.

Weekend Message From Pastor Tom

This weekend I am calling my message, “When Temptation Comes Knocking at My Door.” It is the week we are going to discuss how to live by “predetermined principles.” This would also be a great weekend to bring your friends, as what I am sharing could be of great help, even to those who have yet to receive Christ as their Savior. Pray that those who come will be challenged and can see a new way to live life. It would be great if you would take some time to read Daniel 1:8. Think about resolving to live your life a certain way before things happen. Consider all the scripture in the Bible that says: be prepared, be alert and be on guard. I think you will see the Bible wants us to have a plan and not just go through life “taking it as it comes.”

We will gladly pick up those who need a ride to The Grove Sunday morning!   Pick-ups for church will be at the usual time between 9:45 and 10:00 a.m.

Welcome to Grove Church this Sunday 10/24/2010

October 21, 2010 in Default

Hi !   Dear friends

Welcome to the Grove Community Church this Sunday. As normal, we will have an Aftertalk.

Weekend Message From Pastor Tom

This weekend my message is, “When It is Easy to Get Mad and Pout.” The very last question I am going to ask in the sermon is, “What is on your bucket list?” What things are on your “must do” list before you are too old to care about the list anymore? Does your bucket list have a blend of temporal and eternal or is it all temporal? Here are some verses you can read to prepare for this week’s message: Proverbs 15:13-15; Luke 6:37-38; John 13:5; 1 Corinthians 11:1; 1 Timothy 4:12; Titus 2:7-8; 1 Corinthians 13:11; and Jonah 4.

We will gladly pick up those who need a ride to The Grove Sunday morning!   Pick-ups for church will be at the usual time between 9:45 and 10:00 a.m.

Welcome to Grove Church on Sunday 10/17/2010(revised)

October 14, 2010 in Default

Hi !   Dear friends

Welcome to the Grove Community Church this Sunday. As normal, we will have an Aftertalk.

This week we will be going to Chuck Marler’s home for AfterTalk. We will enjoy a pizza lunch together after which he will do a short presentation on Intelligent Design and we will have a discussion following.

Weekend Message From Pastor Tom

This week I am continuing the series called, “Navigating Through Life’s Storms and Temptations” and this week the title of my message is, “Because He is God and I am Not”. If you would read Job 9, Job 38-41 and Isaiah 39-40 you will get a taste of what I am going to talk about this weekend.

In my reading this morning I was in Matthew 18. Did you know that in verse 17 it mentions the word “church” and the only other place in scripture where “church” is mentioned is in Matthew 16:18? I don’t know if that is information you really need, but you may be on a game show some day and that could be the million dollar answer. No need to send me any money if you win, it will be fun just knowing I helped someone win a million.

We will gladly pick up those who need a ride to The Grove Sunday morning!   Pick-ups for church will be at the usual time between 9:45 and 10:00 a.m.
